Treated together, that shared-credit evidence and the more specific, consistent French biographical sourcing point to Giorgio as the father, which would make Michel a younger brother of Dario and of the singer Fabiana Rosciglione, both mentioned in Giorgio's own profile. He began his professional career as a working sideman in Italy before relocating to France - "il entame une carrière professionnelle en tant que sideman, d'abord en Italie, puis en France," in the words of one French booking biography - and the Discogs record backs that sequence up with actual dates. His first four years of recording activity, 2004 to 2006, run almost entirely through the Italian label Azzurra Music and its Rome circle: his own leader debut Tribute To Sam Jones (2004, with his father guesting on one track and American drummer Bobby Durham on the rest), three Ennio Morricone tribute albums with the Massimo Faraò Trio, his sister Fabiana Rosciglione's The Dream Of Love (2004), Crystal White's I'm Talkin' Bout Love (2005, again alongside his father), and guitarist Fabio Mariani's Jazz Appeal (2006, mixed by his father).
