Mauro Beggio is an Italian jazz drummer, born in 1970, who began studying drums at thirteen. His professional career took off in 1986, when Enrico Rava heard him at the Siena Jazz seminars and invited him to join his quartet permanently; Beggio recorded Animals (1987) with that group, and Musica Jazz magazine named him a leading new Italian talent that year, both confirmed at the Discogs credit level.

Since the early 1990s Beggio has been the regular drummer in Enrico Pieranunzi's Italian trio, a working partnership now past its third decade.
