Gadi Stern is the pianist and co-founder of Shalosh, already profiled on jazzprofiles.com. As teenagers in Jerusalem, he and drummer Matan Assayag, also already profiled, played together in a band called Enoma Elish, which released the album Taking Bobby for a Walk in 2007. When that group ended, Stern moved to New York, where he lived for nearly a decade, absorbing the city's jazz scene directly. That period shaped the genre-crossing sensibility Shalosh is now known for, well before the trio existed.

He and Assayag reconnected in Tel Aviv in early 2014 to form Shalosh, with bassist David Michaeli joining in 2016. The trio's catalog now runs six albums, the last three on Germany's ACT Music: Studio Konzert (2018, Neuklang), Onwards and Upwards (2019), Broken Balance (2020), and Tales of Utopia (2023). Stern has also appeared outside Shalosh, including a 2024 credit on KENS's Atarayo.

Stern's playing sits at the intersection of jazz-rock and electronic textures, built on piano, Rhodes, and synth work developed during his years in New York before Shalosh formed, then channeled into the trio's genre-crossing reworkings of pop, rock, and classical material alongside original compositions.

Shalosh's own leader discography is covered in full in that project's own discography-full.md; not duplicated here.
