Beatsnap (비츠냅) is a South Korean duo of the bassist, keyboardist and producer Juwon Lee (이주원) and the drummer Yeongjin Kim (김영진), who make mostly instrumental, groove-led music from a live rhythm section, sampled drum loops and keyboards. Korean festival press calls it a jazz hip-hop duo or group, Korean streaming services file it under jazz, and it has released two albums, En Route (2023) and Slow Down Town (2024), and the EP Splash (2025). The name is printed Beatsnap on the album covers, on Apple Music and on its YouTube channel, and 비츠냅 on Melon, Bugs and Genie; the credits print the members' names as Juwon Lee and Yeongjin Kim, and the credit text for the first album states that "Beatsnap is Juwon Lee & Yeongjin Kim." Korean services give the duo's nationality as Korean (Melon lists it as 대한민국, Bugs gives the nationality as 대한민국 and the debut year as 2023), its YouTube channel gives Seoul, and its records are distributed in Korea through Genie Music and Stone Music Entertainment. Birth dates and birthplaces for the two members are not published, and no source gives the year the duo formed.

The introduction to the first album on the Korean store Ktown4u says that Kim plays in the Yun Seokcheol Trio, in a group led by Jeon Yong-jun and in Kumapark, among other bands, and that Lee is a bassist and producer who plays and arranges for Beenzino, Primary and Workmanship (워크맨쉽). It describes both as working across the jazz and hip-hop scenes. Those credits come from that introduction alone.

En Route was released digitally on March 15, 2023 (Melon, Apple Music and Jazz Avenue's March 2023 new-releases column give that date; Apple Music and Melon print the title as EnRoute, the cover as En Route), with a CD-R edition listed by Ktown4u for April 27, 2023. It has nine tracks, about thirty-three minutes, recorded at Dew Studio and mixed and mastered by Lee. All nine tracks are credited as written, arranged and performed by the two of them, with Kim on drums and sampling pads and Lee on bass, Wurlitzer and Moog. The introduction says they used the idea of sampling, repeated loops, to present the rhythm section's sound simply and with impact, and that "Bitter Sweet" is the piece the project started from. Three guests appear: the guitarist Wonjun (Wonjun Jung, 정원준) on "Riding Alone," the singer-songwriter Echae Kang (강이채), who sings and shares the writing credit on "Can We Be Alone," and the saxophonist Hachul Song (송하철) on "Simple Plan." Jazz Avenue described the record as what happens when hip-hop's straight beats and mood meet jazz improvisation.

Slow Down Town followed on August 17, 2024, with eleven tracks in about thirty-four minutes, recorded at Dew Studio and Clod Buster, mixed and mastered by Lee, with artwork credited to kimuzabi. The label text says it collects pieces left off the first album and new songs, most of them evoking night, and pictures someone who wants to live slowly but leads a hurried life; the titles, among them "Best Driver," "Salary Theory" and "Bus Stop," follow a working day. Jazz Avenue's August 2024 new-releases column called it an acid jazz sound and named Wonjun Jung, Hachul Song and the keyboardist Chanjin Lee (이찬진) as the players beside the duo. The credits put Wonjun Jung's guitar on six tracks, Hachul Song's saxophone on three and Chanjin Lee's keys on three, while "밖으로," "그냥 해," "월급, 그리고" and "Swing Yourself" are the duo alone; Bugs files the album under acid jazz and fusion jazz. Bugs and Jazz Avenue name "Slow Down Town" as the title track.

Splash is a five-track EP of about twenty minutes, released on August 10, 2025. Its label text says it takes the feel of beat music, which it calls the duo's trademark, and applies it to summer images: a beach, an overworked person dreaming of leave, a stakeout, a day of doing nothing, a holiday. The same three players as on Slow Down Town appear on it, and Bugs lists "Workaholic" as the title track. Outside their own records, the duo is credited as a featured act on "Timeline" on Hachul Song's album Resonance (April 24, 2025), where Lee and Kim are credited on bass and drums, and on "Higher" on the R&B artist ZINO's EP PRESSURE (July 2, 2025).

Live, the duo plays club sets and festival slots. Its YouTube channel, opened in May 2023, carries studio sessions from Dew Studio and sets recorded at Club Evans in Hongdae. Korean press announced it on the bill of the Seoul Forest Jazz Festival 2025, held September 19 to 21 in Seoul Forest: the Sports Kyunghyang's June 13 announcement of the first line-up called it "a groove-filled jazz hip-hop duo" and the August 5 announcement of the third line-up called it a jazz hip-hop group. The day and hour of its set are not in the sources found.

What is not known: the members' birth dates and places, the year the duo formed, any award or nomination, any independent critical review beyond new-release listings, and whether a fourth release is planned. The duo has no entry on Wikipedia, Wikidata, Discogs or MusicBrainz. It is not the same as the unrelated electronic producer BeatSnap that Apple Music lists with singles from 2020 and 2026.

The records are built from loops. Kim's drum patterns and sampling pads and Lee's Wurlitzer, Moog and electric bass lock into a repeating groove, and the guests add a saxophone line, a guitar figure or a voice on top. The label text for Splash names beat music as the duo's trademark, and Jazz Avenue's notice for En Route describes hip-hop's straight beats meeting jazz improvisation. Slow Down Town leans toward acid jazz, with Wurlitzer, organ and synthesizer parts; no credit on the three releases lists a rapper, so the hip-hop side lies in the beats and the sampled-loop method rather than in vocals.

The scope question goes both ways. For jazz: Melon, Bugs and Apple Music all file the albums under jazz (Melon adds acid, fusion and pop, Bugs adds acid jazz and fusion jazz); Jazz Avenue, the Korean jazz magazine, lists both albums in its monthly new-release columns; the duo was booked at a jazz festival; and the people around it are jazz players, among them Hachul Song, the drummer's reported work in the Yun Seokcheol Trio and the club sets at Club Evans. Against: the duo's own label text calls its sound beat music, the festival press billed it as jazz hip-hop, the first album was framed around sampling loops, Jazz Avenue notes that the duo set out to make music that is pleasant to listen to, ZINO's record it appears on is filed under R&B, and no jazz award or critical jazz review turned up. This profile therefore treats Beatsnap as a jazz-scene duo whose records sit between acid jazz, beat music and jazz hip-hop, and tags it with the closest canonical terms, Acid Jazz and Jazz Fusion.
