Asaf Harris is a Brooklyn-based Israeli saxophonist and composer. He trained at the Israel Conservatory for Music in Tel Aviv on an Excellence Scholarship from its Center for Jazz Studies, then completed his degree at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York in spring 2020, graduating with the school's John Coltrane Award for outstanding performers, composers, and improvisers. He has also received an America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarship.

He has played prestigious rooms and festivals including Birdland, Beit Haamudim, the Bern Jazz Festival, and the Red Sea Jazz Festival, and shared stages with Ofer Ganor, Abraham Burton, Hal Galper, and Avi Leibovich's Israeli Jazz Orchestra. Outside straight-ahead jazz, he has scored two award-winning documentaries, Truth, Nothing But (2014) and Sulha (2016), and arranged for the Israel Police Orchestra and the New School Studio Orchestra.

His debut album, Walk of the Ducks (2022), came out on the UK label Ubuntu Music, which signed him specifically for the release, featuring Israeli musicians Nitzan Bar (guitar), Guy Moskovich (piano), Omri Hadani (bass), and David Sirkis (drums). His second album, I Thought I Was Ready, followed on ECN Music.

Harris works within a post-bop, contemporary jazz saxophone tradition, shaped by his dual training in Tel Aviv and New York and honored early with the New School's John Coltrane Award.
