Grant Geissman was born April 13, 1953. He played the well-known guitar solo on Chuck Mangione's 1977 hit "Feels So Good," a recording covered in full in Chuck Mangione's JazzProfiles.com profile, and went on to build a sixteen-album career as a leader in contemporary jazz, recording steadily since 1976. He worked extensively as a studio guitarist, with credits including Quincy Jones, Burt Bacharach, and Elvis Costello.
Geissman's profile extends well beyond jazz circles through his television composing career: he co-wrote the music for all twelve seasons of the CBS series Two and a Half Men and all six seasons of Mike & Molly, earning an Emmy nomination for the Two and a Half Men theme song, one of the most widely heard pieces of television music of its era.
