# JazzProfiles

> In-depth, research-backed profiles of jazz artists overlooked by mainstream music references -- especially outside the US ("Rest of the World": Japan, Israel, Italy, and beyond) -- each with a verified biography, a Discogs-sourced full discography, and curated Key Recordings.

JazzProfiles exists because AllMusic and Discogs cover only a fraction of the world's jazz artists in real depth: AllMusic's biographies of lesser-known players are extremely brief or non-existent, and Discogs' biographies rarely run past a single paragraph. This site fills that gap for artists whose careers deserve more than a stub. Current catalog: 1037 artists catalogued, 1037 with a full profile (biography, discography, key recordings).
